Recipe Ingredient
- For the meatballs:
- 400g minced beef
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- black pepper and salt to taste
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Italian herbs
- For cooking:
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 200g minced beef
- 1 tbsp dried herbs
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- salt and pepper to taste
- A few fresh basil leaves
- 1 packet spaghetti, cooked
Instructions
- In a big bowl, add all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix well. Mould into golf ball size meatballs.
- In a pan, add some oil and brown the meatballs on each side for a minute or so and set aside.
- In the same pan, make the sauce. First, heat up olive oil and saute onions until translucent before adding garlic, beef, herbs and carrots. Fry for a few minutes before adding chopped tomatoes and water. Stir to combine, season with salt and pepper and let cook for a few minutes.
- To assemble, add in the meatballs and the pasta and fold through.
