HOKKIEN-char stalls are getting harder to come by these days especially around the Klang Valley.
There are many tai-chou (stir-fried) stalls out there, but few can really cook up a good plate of Hokkien-char noodles.
While wandering around Bandar Puteri in Puchong, I came across Restoran I love Hokkien Mee in Jalan Puteri 2/3.
Curious about the crowd in this makan place, I decided to give it a try.
To my surprise, the food served here really lived up to my expectations.
I ordered a plate of tai-look meen (fat noodles) and a small fried beehoon.
And at RM13 per serving for two people, the Hokkien-char was tasty.
It came with a generous portion of ingredients and plenty of chee yau char (pork cracklings).
On a scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 7 on the Samo-scale.
The fried beehoon, on the other hand, were a bit soggy for my taste.
Nevertheless, my wife, Michelle, and I polished the plate.
Other than fried noodles, the makan place also serves side dishes which we didn’t bother to try.
After settling my bill for RM23 including two drinks, I found out from the person at the cash register that the restaurant originated from Serdang.
The branch in Bandar Puteri (N 03 01.355, E 101 37.060) was their third and they have been operating for five years.
