Recipe Ingredient
- 5 pieces tempe or fermented soya bean cakes
- Enough oil for deep-frying
- Seasoning:
- 1 tsp ground turmeric powder
- 1 tsp meat curry powder
- 1 tsp chicken stock granules
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- Spicy dipping sauce:
- 2 tbsp Thai chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp chopped bird chilli (cilipadi)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Pinch of salt or to taste
- 1 to 2 tbsp fish sauce (nampla)
Instructions
- Cut tempe pieces into 3cm squares. Combine the seasoning ingredients in a mixing bowl and add tempe pieces; toss well. Deep-fry in hot oil till golden and crispy. Serve with dipping sauce.
- To make sauce, combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well.
