Recipe Ingredient

  • 1 bowl oats (preferably Quaker oats)
  • 1l water
  • 50g chicken fillet, sliced
  • 50g fish fillet, sliced
  • Marinade (A) - for chicken
  • 1/2 tbsp light soya sauce
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1/8 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • Marinade (B) - for fish
  • Pinch of salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • A sprinkling of Shao Hsing Hua Tiau wine(optional)
  • Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp light soya sauce
  • Garnishing
  • Some chopped spring onion and coriander leaves
  • Some chopped red chilli

Instructions

  1. Combine oats and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Season chicken with marinade (A) and fish with marinade (B). Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Once the oats come to a boil, reduce the heat and add in the marinated chicken and fish.
  4. Cook at a simmering boil until meat is cooked. Season to taste.
  5. Dish out and serve piping hot with garnishing.
