SHAH Alam is a township that I hardly venture into when it comes to searching for makan places.
However, I heard about the good food found at the Glenmarie industrial area and recently decided to give it a try.
I visited the popular MC Curry Noodle House off Persiaran Kerjaya.
It specialises in curry and pork noodles.
I was introduced to this makan place by Ah Kheng, a cycling buddy who also co-owns a cycling news portal.
“Eh Sam! Each time I go to Glenmarie, my contacts will take me to the curry noodle shop.
“It is decent and is one of the best noodle houses in the township so far,” he said.
He has been to many makan places in the Klang Valley and I trust his judgement.
I gave MC Curry Noodle House a try with Ah Kheng and Chloe Mok, his partner who co-manages the news portal.
A regular bowl of curry noodles here costs RM5, which is not bad in terms of pricing and going by Shah Alam’s standards.
My friends had a plate of kwon kah lee fun (dry-gravy curry noodles) and the regular kari mee, while I opted for the chee yuk fun.
I did not want to stain my white shirt and asked for clear soup noodles.

The large bowl of pork noodles was delivered promptly and I wasted no time in chowing it down.
Taste-wise, I must say that the simple-looking chee yuk fun dish is really good!
The dry-gravy curry noodles is also good.
I must say that this makan stall lives up to my expectations and on a scale of 1-10, I would rate it a 7 on the Samo-scale.
MC Curry noodle house (GPS N 03 04.842, E 101 33.551) is located along Jalan Juruaudit U1/37, and is open daily to cater to the breakfast and lunch crowd.
