Ramadan promotion to feature bazaar-type food.

DINERS can look forward to Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur’s Jom Makan promotion in conjunction with Ramadan.

It will feature Malaysian dishes often found in local bazaars, in addition to cold selections, soups, action stall items, hot selections, desserts and beverages.

The promotion will see some stalls set up outside the hotel’s lobby resembling a Ramadan bazaar, in addition to a buffet in the restaurant.

With approximately 200 dishes available on a rotational basis, patrons can look forward to ikan bakar, Signature Hot Pot Soup, apam balik and five different types of Malaysian laksa, among others.

During a media preview, I managed to sample Roti Canai Durian Special.

Durian lovers will enjoy devouring this as the creamy filling and the crispy roti canaiwere a match made in heaven.

The Roti Canai Durian Special (top pic) tasted good both with, and without dhal or curry.

Prince Hotel’s Eccucino junior sous chef Chef Zulkefli Wahiludin explained that D24 durian was used to make the dish.

The flesh of the durian along with some salt is blended to a mousse-like texture before being added into the roti canai.

Another must-try is the Lamb Roast With Coconut Gravy.

The lamb, cooked perfectly, was flavourful and tender.

However, the best thing about it was the pairing of the lamb and gravy.

Not unlike chutney, the orange coconut gravy had a thick paste-like texture that was bursting with flavours.

At the smoked seafood station, the Smoked Salmon with Condiments is another must-try.

Zulkefli explained that high quality salmon was used, evident from the deep pink shade.

Imported from Australia, the salmon was incredibly fresh and tasty.

Patrons can expect other specialties including kerabu pucuk pakububur lambuk, beef rendang with lemangais kacangsatay and more during the promotion.

Other items that will be available include a Japanese section with assorted sushi and sashimi, various antipasti, prawn, avocado and pomelo cocktails (canape), Pasta Salad with Smoked Chicken and Roasted Chile Dressing, among others.

The buffet price starts at RM108++ for adults, RM54++ for children 12 and below while it is complimentary for children under six.

The Jom Makan promotion is only available from 6.30pm to 10.30pm from June 30 to July 25.
